How we work – Our design process

Our interior design process is part of what makes working with Homesmiths so productive. We work with our clients flexibly, offering design input and support where they most need it.  After an initial discussion of the brief, via phone or video call and a review of the floor plans, we follow up with a fee proposal.

We understand that for refurbishments, detailed floor plans are not always easy to come by, so we tend to provide an estimate based on fire plans and site photographs.

The next stage would be for us to visit to take a detailed brief, discuss budget and conduct a site survey.

DESIGN AND SPECIFICATION

The development of design concepts follows, taking the format of a PowerPoint presentation which can either be delivered remotely via video call or at a further face to face meeting.

Following feedback from the design concepts, we then start working on the detailed designs for each area.  These are then presented at a face to face meeting on boards featuring floor plans showing furniture and electrical detail, samples of all fabrics and finishes and images of everything including in the scheme.

We provide detailed FF&E schedules, finishes specifications and associated CAD drawings for contractors.

PROCUREMENT AND FIT-OUT

We are able to fully coordinate a project, overseeing it from procurement through to fit-out and dressing.  For clients wishing to coordinate procurement and fit out themselves, we offer a dressing only service where we come in at the end of the project to check the layout and complete the scheme with accessories.

For your assurance, Jacqui and David will wear masks, sanitise hands before entering the building and if required conduct a lateral flow test before visiting
